I am happy too say that we are able to showcase this system operating in a Telcom site in Malaysia, thanks to the efforts of SolarNRJ, who are our solutions provider. The design concept is exactly the same as the Phi Suea project in Chiang Mai, Thailand, with the obvious difference the the load is steady and the demand is 24*7 with 99.5% service level !
With prior agreement with Digi and the scheduling of the relevant guests of honour, SolarNRJ are hosting an open day on the 7th of April.
If you are available to attend, just let me know.
Asia’s first completely renewable, self-refuelling back-up power for Telco’s
SolarNRJ Sdn. Bhd. has recently completed the installation of Asia’s first back-up power system for telecommunications towers that is self-refuelling with a zero carbon footprint. The project was sponsored by SKMM, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission and installed on a Digi Telecommunications Sdn. Bhd. remote telco site enabling them to be have the first completely green site in Malaysia. It was built to successfully demonstrate how a combination of clean energy technologies can effectively work together to provide a green, long-term, cost effective solution for remote power. Apart from being carbon neutral, the system is also very low maintenance and as mentioned, self-refuelling so remote sites that run on Diesel generators currently would benefit heavily from this type of complete solution.
